Phil Smith has been involved in network communications for 9 years. He started at the with Eurocontrol supporting the Network operations at the DFS (Deutsche Flugsicherung) Centre at Karlsruhe, Germany. The system was based on OSI. Four years ago he moved to the Eurocontrol Experimental Centre at Paris, France to work on the ATN (Aeronautical Telecommunications Network) project, based on OSI, pre operational evaluation. After two years he moved to IPSky, where he is the Project Manager, which aims to demonstrate and promote IPv6 as the most suitable protocol for aeronautical communications replacing OSI. | |
